This Is Us, The Complete First Season arrives on DVD this week – Sept. 12, to be exact. Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia star in this acclaimed, provocative new series from the writer of Crazy, Stupid, Love. Centered around characters who share the same birthday, the story follows several decades in the lives of Jack and Rebecca Pearson (Ventimigilia and Moore).
Shows like This Is Us don’t come along very often, and this one caught fire within the first couple of episodes. Everyone was talking about it on all of my social media channels, including me. “Real” characters, real stories, and no Hollywood sugar-coating allowed. TV viewers love stories they can connect to, and This Is Us fills the bill.
As the plot unfolds in season one, it traverses numerous timelines, and intertwines the stories of people whose lives connect in unexpected ways. Filled with memorable performances from its acclaimed Emmy® nominated cast, This Is Us is a smart, poignant dramedy also starring Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, Ron Cephas Jones and Justin Hartley.
