Before the screening, cast members Robby Benson (Beast) and Paige O’Hara (Belle) shared memories of giving voice to the Disney animated classic, which received an Oscar for the movie’s score composed by Alan Menken (Howard Ashman wrote the lyrics). O’Hara called Benson “the heart and soul” of “Beauty and the Beast,” while Benson reminisced about the camaraderie of the cast members and how his daughter who was five years old at the time is now expecting her first child.

But the standout moment of the evening was Angela Lansbury – she played Mrs. Potts – singing the Oscar-winning song “Beauty and the Beast,” accompanied by Menken on the piano. Even the rambunctious children in the audience were mesmerized and to find out why, stop everything you’re doing immediately to watch this.
