Sausage Party is a new R-rated comedy by Seth Rogen | Columbia Pictures

Seth Rogen has a new R-rated movie out called “Sausage Party.” That sounds about right, yeah? Except this movie is animated. I hope all the parents out there read up on it before taking the kiddies!

In fact, “Sausage Party” is the first ever R-rated CG animated movie. Or so says the release notes. I don’t think that’s right. “South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut” is also an R-rated computer animated film. That was released in 1999.

But we do know that this is the first animated film written by Seth Rogen. And based on the trailer below, it’s pretty darn funny. I laughed out loud a few times while watching it (though, yeah, there’s language – NOT SAFE FOR WORK!)

SAUSAGE PARTY – What Happens When You Leave the Store?

The story is about one sausage who leads a group of supermarket products on a quest to discover the truth about their existence. And what REALLY happens when they leave the grocery store? It’s not good, people! Not good!

“Sausage Party” has been in the works since July, 2010. Greg Tiernan and Conrad Vernon are directing. The writers are Evan Goldberg, Kyle Hunter, Seth Rogen and Ariel Shaffir.

Of note is that Jay Baruchel is the only one of the main six actors from “This Is the End” (2013) to not appear in this film.
