I was so hoping there’d be more “Indiana Jones” movies, and my prayers have been answered – and with Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford. What could be better?!
Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford will reunite as a brand new “Indiana Jones” movie heads to theaters July 19, 2019. This will be the fifth epic adventure in the blockbuster series, and I couldn’t be happier about the news.
Steven Spielberg, who directed all four previous films, will helm the as-yet-untitled project with star Harrison Ford reprising his iconic role. Franchise veterans Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall will produce.

Indiana Jones, Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg – The Perfect Combo
“Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019,” said Alan Horn, Chairman, The Walt Disney Studios.
“It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”
Famed archaeologist and explorer Indiana Jones was introduced in 1981’s “Raiders of the Lost Ark” – one of AFI’s 100 Greatest American Films of All Time – and later thrilled audiences in 1984’s “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.”
“Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” followed in 1989, and then came 2008’s “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.” The four films have brought in nearly $2 billion at the global box office.
Will Shia LaBeouf Be Back?
The press release that just landed in my inbox doesn’t say whether Shia LaBeouf will reprise his character from “Crystal Skull,” but I’d be totally fine with that. After all, he DOES have that iconic hat now!
Cate Blanchett, Karen Allen, Ray Winstone, John Hurt and Jim Broadbent also starred in “Crystal Skull,” which, in my view, had one of the best action stunts in the franchise (the vehicle chase through the jungle).
This fifth film will premiere in U.S. theaters on July 19, 2019.
Indiana Jones changed alot, but I like the new style anyway. Spielberg is an awesome director and I hope he will continue for many more years. Great movies. And I like the fact he still works with Harrison Ford. Many directors would choose some younger new actor, but this guy is a legend.
