Cate Blanchett Wears Armani Privé – Academy Awards 2016

Cate Blanchett looked stunning as always in a beautiful Armani Privé gown at the 2016 Academy Awards on Feb. 28, 2016.

The annual awards ceremony took place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The 46-year-old Cate Blanchett is nominated for Best Actress for her work in the movie “Carol.”

She’s up for the award against Room‘s Brie Larson, Joy‘s Jennifer Lawrence, 45 Years‘ Charlotte Rampling, and Brooklyn‘s Saoirse Ronan.

Cate is wearing an Armani Privé seafoam green cap-sleeve mermaid gown that features hand sewn clusters of Swarovski crystals and white feathers.

She has this amazing ability to pull off a dress like this. It’s still classy, but has a little something extra to make it stand apart from the rest of the red carpet.

Cate has several movies coming up, including “How to Train Your Dragon 3,” “Thor: Ragnarok,” and “Jungle Book: Origins.” She voices the character of Kaa in that movie, which is perfect casting, don’t you think?

I am REALLY looking forward to that film, which hits theaters Oct. 6, 2017. The cast also includes Christian Bale as Bagheera, Benedict Cumberbatch as Shere Khan, Naomie Harris as Nisha, Andy Serkis as Baloo and Matthew Rhys as John Lockwood.

Perfect casting all the way around. And what a fantastic way to bring this classic Rudyard Kipling story to a whole new generation. You know, sometimes it’s A-Ok with me to do remakes. This film hits theaters 50 years after Walt Disney’s original animated feature.

Plus, it’s Andy Serkis’ directorial debut. So the guy we mostly know from his motion-capture work as Gollum and King Kong goes behind the camera for this film. I believe he was a second-director for one or more of the “Lord of the Rings” films, as well.
