Bernie Sanders, Larry David, Saturday Night Live

Bernie Sanders or Larry David? You Make the Call on Saturday Night Live!

Bernie Sanders and Larry David on Saturday Night Live together? Yep, this weekend. Look for a “liberal” dose of Bernie Sanders on the long-running sketch comedy show tomorrow night.

The Democratic presidential hopeful will take a break from his campaign blitz in New Hampshire to appear opposite his curmudgeonly doppelganger.

Seriously, between Tina Fey – a dead ringer for Sarah Palin – and Larry David as Sanders (you truly can’t tell the two apart unless you look close), it’s a political bonanza on Saturday Night Live these days.

The Vermont senator’s senior adviser, Tad Devine, confirmed to CNN today, “We’ll be live in New York.”

David, of course, is the mastermind behind “Seinfeld” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” He recently returned to Studio 8H for the first time in 30 years (yes, 30!) to play his fellow Brooklynite. This week, he’ll be hosting the show.

Bernie Sanders and Larry David – Together At Last on Saturday Night Live

I don’t know about you, but I’m kind of glad we’ll be seeing them in the same room. Honestly, you really can’t tell who’s who. In fact, when asked to give an impression of Larry David during Wednesday’s Democratic town hall, Sanders quipped, “I AM Larry David.”

And let’s not forget Kate McKinnon, who came face to face with her political doppelganger, Hillary Clinton, during an October episode of Saturday Night Live.

And the no-holds-barred billionaire Donald Trump, who’s running for President on the Republican side, drew “yuge” ratings when he hosted Saturday Night Live in November.

Larry David as Bernie Sanders in the Democratic Presidential Debate

Let’s take a look at the Democratic debate that took place last fall on Saturday Night Live. Featured are Hillary Clinton (Kate McKinnon), Bernie Sanders (Larry David), Jim Webb (Alec Baldwin), Lincoln Chafee (Kyle Mooney) and Martin O’Malley (Taran Killam), as they face off at the Democratic presidential debate, hosted by CNN’s Anderson Cooper (Jon Rudnitsky).

“We’re doomed!” said Sanders. “We need a revolution! Millions of people on the streets! And we’ve gotta do something! And we’ve gotta do it now!”
