#Hearties rejoice! “When Calls the Heart” is back!
After a year-long wait, the show returned last week with a two-hour premiere. Jack and Elizabeth’s newfound romance is going strong, but things are thrown off kilter when Elizabeth finds out her mother has fallen ill.
Escorted by Jack, Elizabeth heads home to Hamilton and the high society life she left behind. Jack finds himself out of sorts in the high brow world Elizabeth is so familiar with, and things get complicated when Charles, Elizabeth’s very handsome childhood friend, enters the scene.
Meanwhile, back in Coal Valley, the trial over the death of the miners finally commences.
In this week’s episode “Heart and Soul,” Elizabeth and Jack find themselves miles apart (literally) as Jack returns to the newly minted Hope Valley, leaving Elizabeth in Hamilton while her mother is on the mend.
Abigail and Bill barely get a chance to start a romantic relationship when it is derailed after a mysterious guest (Kristina Wagner) shows up in town. (Check out this cool pic of Jack and Kristina.)
“When Calls the Heart” airs Saturdays at 8/7c on the Hallmark Channel.

I am beyond excited that When Calls the Heart is back! It’s the best show on tv! Whether we’re in Coal/Hope Valley or Hamilton, I simply adore the characters and writing! Thank you, Hallmark Channel for airing this great show that is family friendly! Well done!
Hallmark has hit it out of the park with “when calls the heart”. The story lines are great, the matching of actors to characters is unbelievable, and the 1910 period is a great romantic time. Bringing Jack and Kristina Wagner together for a piece such as this is a great idea. I would like to see some of their comedy but that can wait til season 3 . And there will be a season 3, we all believe. The mystery ,love and talent of the Wagners is beyond anything in today’s television programs. Erin and Dan are just as talented in their roles. I think there needs to be a Christmas special, maybe going back to when Bill and Nora were once married and Happy before the death of their son. Come on Hallmark, you know you can’t tease us and not deliver a great romance story like that. With two such fine actors already connected you will definitely hit a grand slam. The wait is torture.
