Alison Hammond is gracing screens this year in the new series of BBC’s “Strictly Come Dancing.” Since her debut as a housemate on the third season of ‘mother of all reality shows’ “Big Brother,” Alison has made a name for herself by getting involved with other popular reality TV shows, such as “I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here” and “Celebrity Master Chef.”
For many people, however, Alison is one of the familiar faces of ITV’s “This Morning” family. She chats about being on the dance show.
“It’s completely different already,” she said. “I’m learning how to dance correctly instead of just bopping around. It’s all very technical, and I need to be on point. I can’t just style it out! I’m in love with dancing, so I can’t wait to bring this challenge on.”
Any secrets she can reveal about “Strictly Come Dancing”? Although Alison couldn’t say too much, she did comment on how all the female contestants on the show have started a What’s App group to share all their experiences and pictures. “It’s really lovely,” she said.
And what dance is she most looking forward to? “Definitely the Salsa,” she said. “I love Salsa music, but the dance also has only three steps in it, so it’s easier to learn.”
She also mentioned that she’s taking the competition very seriously this year. “So is Aljaz, my dance partner,” she said. “He won the show last year with Abby Clancy, and he is already working me hard after one session. There is no messing around from 9 a.m. when we get in the studio. We didn’t even have time for lunch on our first session. We really want that Glitter Ball this year again.”
Nonetheless, with a line-up of stars like Pixie Lott, Radio One DJ, Scott Mills, and Blue’s Simon Webbe, Alison has her work cut out for her.
