Paramount Pictures released the first full trailer for Jason Reitman’s “Men, Women & Children” yesterday. The poster looks like it would be an animated movie. It’s not. It’s rated R and covers serious stuff.

The story follows a group of high school teenagers and their parents as they attempt to navigate the many ways the internet has changed their relationships, their communication, their self-image, and their love lives. We can all relate to that. You really have to make an effort to not be controlled by all the screens in our lives.
As the official synopsis notes, “The film attempts to stare down social issues such as video game culture, anorexia, infidelity, fame hunting, and the proliferation of illicit material on the internet. As each character and each relationship is tested, we are shown the variety of roads people choose – some tragic, some hopeful – as it becomes clear that no one is immune to this enormous social change that has come through our phones, our tablets, and our computers.”
It features a really interesting cast, including Ansel Elgort (so glad we didn’t have to wait long for his next role after “The Fault In Our Stars”), Adam Sandler (yes, you read that right), Jennifer Garner, Emma Thompson, Judy Greer, Dean Norris, Kaitlyn Dever, Rosemarie DeWitt, J.K. Simmons and Dennis Haysbert.
Take a look at the trailer. The movie hits theaters Oct. 17, 2014, and I’m predicting that it’ll be a big hit, not only because it looks like a great movie, but also because unless you’ve been living in the woods Walden style, everyone can relate to it.
