The Oscar parties kicked off mid-week with a celebration of Annie Leibovitz’s new Sumo-size Taschen book on Wednesday night at the legendary Chateau Marmont.
Leibovitz may not be an Oscar nominee, but she’s photographed more aspiring and Oscar winning actors than any other photographer, so it was only fitting to kick off Oscar week with a party for the ace celebrity photographer to honor her new book. The monumental tome is 476 pages and costs $2,500. Only 10,000 copies have been printed, and they are sure to sell out quickly among the ultra rich.
A-listers who attended to celebrate the publication of the gigantic coffee table book included hosts Leibovitz, Leon Max and Benedikt Taschen, along with Andre Balazs, Graydon Carter, Patricia Clarkson, Michaela Conlin, Sara Gilbert and Linda Perry, Mitch Glazer and Kelly Lynch, Melanie Griffith, Paul Haggis, Naomie Harris, David Hockney, Gillian Jacobs, Kevin Jonas, Quincy Jones, Adepero Oduye, Wolfgang Puck, Michael Richards, Terry Richardson, David Spade, Sylvester Stallone, and Mario Testino.
