I’m attempting to get myself back into reading. That is no small feat, what with running this site and, you know, keeping the kids fed, clothed and housed. Stuff like that.
BUY on Amazon: Hollow City: The Second Novel of Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children
But I was a voracious reader as a kid – Nancy Drew, Beverly Cleary, and just a ton of other books I’ve still got on my shelf. And it’s sad that I just don’t have time to read at this point in my life.
As my friend Vera Marie Badertscher over at A Traveler’s Library says, you just have to make time for it. Check out her top ten travel books of 2013 – she recommends “The Bottom of the Jar” byAbdellatif Laâbi for me. Ok, I’ll be checking that out.
BUY on Amazon: Into the Still Blue (Under the Never Sky)
I’ve also been perusing Goodreads, and finding some good stuff there. They recently rolled out their Top 200 Books Published in January 2014, so that’s a great place to start. You can click over to read the full list.
BUY on Amazon: Divergent (Divergent Series)
I’m so out of the book loop that I’m not familiar with a lot of the authors, but it seems encouraging that many of the titles are part of a series. That’s cool.
I could use some help, though.
What’s the best book you’ve read recently? If it’s something like “The Hunger Games” – the last book series I read and loved – that’d be swell. I also have “Divergent” on my desk – hoping to crack that open before the movie comes out March 21, 2014.
