I love it when actors and filmmakers share the process of their films on social media. We got to ride along as Ron Howard filmed “Rush” last year. The veteran filmmaker tweeted about the process on his Twitter account, sharing updates and photos. Now he’s on the promotional tour, in Cologne as I write this for the German premiere of the movie.
Vin Diesel is good about that, too. He’s been sharing “Fast & Furious 7” set photos and updates on his Facebook page. Click through and check out that page. It’s always hard to tell, but it seems like he’s the actual person updating, which is not always true of big stars.
Diesel confirmed this week that veteran actor Kurt Russell will be joining the “Fast & Furious” family for “Fast 7.” The 62-year-old Russell has been rumored to be a part of the high-action flick, but his role was never completely confirmed. Based on the photo below, I think we’re good to go on that rumor.
In recent years, he’s mostly been enjoying life off-camera with longtime love Goldie Hawn. Recent films include 2007’s “Grindhouse” and 2011’s “Touchback.” “The Art of the Steal” premiered at the Toronto Film Festival this month, and “Bone Tomahawk” is currently in pre-production.
“Fast & Furious 7,” directed by James Wan, is scheduled for a July 11, 2014 release.
