Fall TV 2013: 5 Most Anticipated Season Premieres

Fall TV: Bones

September is here and the anticipation is building for the return of my favorite shows! Check out our massive list of new and returning Fall TV premiere dates, and tell us which shows you’d like us to recap.

As for last season’s finales, we were left with a lot of cliffhangers and “OMG” moments. Here are the top five season premieres I can’t wait to see! I am starting with number five and working my way down to one (you know what that is).

5. LAW & ORDER: SVU (season 15 premieres 9/25 at 10 p.m. on NBC). First of all, this will be SVU’s fifteenth season. Is that jaw-dropping or what? A round of applause for that alone! In this show’s premiere, we will find out if Detective Olivia Benson (the beautiful Mariska Hargitay), is sexually assaulted by the very scary rapist William Lewis (Pablo Schreiber), who broke into her apartment and had taken her to another room at gunpoint. That’s where we left off.

Lewis is also called “The Beast” because of his heinous torture/rape crimes on women. Benson was in his face the entire season finale, so he wants to get even with her, and unfortunately, I think he does.

Showrunner/producer Warren Leight says, “What Pablo and Mariska did in that first episode, everyone on the crew felt it was the most harrowing episode we have ever done…” Reading that and watching some of the clips on the Internet leads me to believe the worst happens to Benson. Ugh!

If that’s the case, I’m sure we will see her fellow officers get revenge for their beloved Olivia, and I am sure we will see how she deals with everything that happened to her. It will lead to some very good drama – which is what this show is all about.

4. REVENGE (season 3 premieres 9/29 at 10 p.m. on ABC). What can you say about this show – full throttle all the way! It has been high octane since it began only two seasons ago … and I love it!

We were left with a lot (as in every episode) to deal with in the season finale: Declan dying (I still can’t believe it) because of the bombing at Grayson Global; Jack wanting to and going to kill Conrad (who deserves it) – Conrad is the Initiative (I actually think that maybe Victoria was a nice woman long long ago); Charlotte not knowing of Declan’s death; not knowing if Daniel killed Aiden; and the biggie … Emily telling Jack she’s really Amanda Clarke! What?!

I can’t believe she told him … and now he will probably hate her, and of course, we know she loves him. I’m sure the premiere will be jam-packed too!

3. CASTLE (season 6 premieres 9/23 at 10 p.m. on ABC). Here is a show that has one of my favorite couples on TV – Castle and Beckett. They are so cute together, right? At the end of last season, Beckett was ready to accept a job in Washington D.C. with the FBI (remember, her career is very important to her). Castle realized he had to make some kind of dramatic move or he might lose her for good.

Fall TV: CastleThe one thing they both realized is that they hadn’t talked about their future together – hello, important! In the last scene, Castle and Beckett were on swings and talked about what was going to happen in their relationship. He was mad she hadn’t told him about the job opportunity. Then he told her he had made a decision (this took me off guard too). I thought he was going to say he would go with her to D.C., but instead, he dropped to one knee and proposed. Wow! Yeah!

But you could tell by the look on Kate’s face that she was really caught off guard. In the premiere, my guess is that she tells him she isn’t ready yet, and he will be very disappointed. But what is she going to do about the job? Hum.

Here are a few bits I’ve learned about the premiere: Alexis has a new boyfriend, a major character gets shot, Castle returns from a long book signing tour, and someone is involved in a car crash. Looks like a lot is going to happen on the first episode!

2. NASHVILLE (season 2 premieres 10/10 at 10 p.m. on ABC). This show was a very pleasant surprise. I absolutely love the characters, the writing and the storylines. A real gem! The finale was jam-packed with drama. The big scene was the car crash with Rayna and Deacon.

In the premiere, Rayna will be in a coma and clinging to life. I am sure Deacon will be consumed with guilt because he was drunk and she told him to move over so she could drive … and they argued while she was driving. I have to say, I understand why he was drunk – he was still reeling from the news that Maddie is his daughter (he was furious at Rayna for not telling him – I would be too).

Juliette just buried her mother (who took her own life to protect Juliette), and in the opener I’m sure she’ll be struggling with her emotions. I have heard that she is going to get back to her bad self – especially to Rayna. Darn.

So, what about Peggy telling Teddy she’s pregnant? He has enough to worry about with the Cumberland investigation (and I’m sure Rayna won’t be happy hearing about Peggy). Gunnar proposed to Scarlett – she won’t marry him. He needs to clear his head and get his act together. They are very sweet together, though; let’s give them time.

What about Will? In the finale, he dished a guy in a bar (maybe a lover?) because he doesn’t want anyone to know he is gay. I hope they develop the storyline and have him come out. That would be a good thing, wouldn’t it? Read last season’s recaps, and let’s stayed tuned to find out what happens this season!

1. BONES (season 9 premieres 9/16 at 8 p.m. on FOX). Ok, you aren’t surprised this is my number one. You know “Bones” is my favorite show! Read all my “Bones” recaps and news.

In the eighth season finale. we saw the evil killer Christopher Pelant come back to terrorize the team. The biggest moment in the episode was what we have all been waiting for, for so long … and it happened! Brennan asked Booth to marry her! Woo hoo! We were all so happy … finally! Oh right, it couldn’t be that easy.

Pelant, that awful human being, yanked the rug out from under us and broke Brennan’s heart. Actually, Booth broke her heart – he was forced by Pelant to re-nig on the proposal because Pelant would start killing innocent people if he didn’t … and, he couldn’t tell Bones why he changed his mind … breaking her heart (Booth’s too). Ugh!

Twitter was exploding with anger and dismay (I know, I was following it). We fans were so upset after all of this time waiting … but, the shows creator, Hart Hanson has promised that they will wed this year. He says, “No fooling, they will get married – no tricks.” There better not be!

I think it will be hard for them the first few episodes, but she will figure out what is going on. We may see another wedding this year, too, I’ve learned, and there are going to be some fun surprises and guest stars. I hope you are as excited as I am to start the new season!

What Fall TV premieres are you excited about? What was the most shocking season finale you watched? We’d love to hear your comments!

What an awesome post!!! I’m always super excited this time every year, to see what’s coming up on the new seasons (and then quickly realize I can’t watch every single show because I lost my Superwoman cape in the laundry).

But I’m caught up on Parenthood, and really looking forward to seeing what happens there (they didn’t have a clear renewal, so last season’s finale *could have been the series finale – but I’m glad it wasn’t).

Also working my way through Scandal and hope to catch up by the new season. I’d like to say I’ll get through Revenge in time, but that’s probably not likely.

Of course, I’m watching Bones here and there (finally got through episode 9 – yay! – you’re right, what a fantastic episode).

Re Castle, I just jumped in and watched the finale from last season, so feel like I know enough to jump into the upcoming season.

Law & Order: SVU sounds gutwrenching. I don’t know if I feel stable enough to watch that show! And, well, I haven’t watched it at all, so jumping into season 15 probably isn’t a great idea anyway).

Homeland, The Vampire Diaries and Major Crimes are other favorites. Also want to check a bunch of the new fall shows, like The Originals, Dracula, and Sleepy Hollow (saw the pilot for that and loved it).

Super excited to see SVU. The show is fantastic and Mariska Hargitay, beautiful and talented, is a spectacle. I love the whole cast.

I agree. Great cast and great show. It’s going to be hard watching the premiere and what happens to Olivia.

I don’t watch any of these at present, but Castle is luring me. However, I also realized the other day as I looked at my recorded playlist that I’m watching a heck of a lot of murder. Looks like you’ve got a lot of soap opera-type dramas in your list–or maybe the summaries just make it sound that way by condensing the drama? Anyhow, I think I need a romantic comedy for a change.

Just watched the season preem of Castle – I love this show (ok, maybe I love Captain Tightpants more than the show, but it is a well-written show)!

I can’t wait for Season 2 of Nashville! I love love love the music they have produced for Season 1. Hopefully, the songwriting will keep pace with last season now that T-Bone Burnett has left the show.

“Actually, Booth broke her heart – he was forced by Pelant to re-nig….”

The word you’re looking for is “renege.”
