Melanie Griffith

Book ’em, Danno! And meet your mom – Melanie Griffith. This news is enough to make me start watching “Hawaii Five-O,” and the fact that I haven’t been watching it is nothing against the show. Just too many shows, so little time. You know the drill.

But I LOVE Melanie Griffith, so I’m definitely going to start watching this season.

The movie star mostly known for her 1980s movies like “Working Girl” (sigh) and “Milk Money” is set to play the mother of Danny Williams (Scott Caan) on “Hawaii Five-O.” The show’s Twitter account announced the news Tuesday:

CASTING NEWS: @MelanieGriffith to play role of Danny’s mom on #H50 this upcoming season!

No major details yet, but I’m thinking it would be fun to see her onscreen with Carol Burnett, who’s playing McGarrett’s aunt and coming to Oahu with a secret plan to reunite the entire clan for Thanksgiving.

Griffith most recently guest-starred on “Raising Hope” last season as Sabrina’s mom.

“Hawaii Five-O” returns Friday, Sept. 27 at 9/8c on CBS.
