Gladiator Alert! “Friends” alum Lisa Kudrow is joining the cast of Shonda Rhimes’ Washington DC drama “Scandal” in a recurring role for season three, which premieres Oct. 3 on ABC.
As is usually the case with news from ShondaLand, details about Kudrow’s character is being held under lock and key in a secret underground vault. But we do know she’ll be playing a politician.
Kudrow is joining her longtime producing partner Dan Bucatinsky, who received an Emmy nomination for his recurring role as Cyrus’ (Jeff Perry) long-suffering husband. This is her biggest acting commitment in some time, as most of her time has been focused on producing her online-turned-TV improv show “Web Therapy.”
Although I decided a while back that I would NO LONGER attempt to catch up on shows before their new seasons air, I’m attempting to make an exception for “Scandal.” I’m part-way through season one, and watching to see what all the fuss is about. I like it so far, especially because Kerry Washington plays such a fierce character. That is never a bad thing.
You watching “Scandal”? Any thoughts on this news or season three?
