Julianne Moore appeared on the red carpet at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 26, 2013 for the premiere of her very funny new movie, “The English Teacher.” She looked happy and luminous in a deep purple dress.

I laughed out loud several times while watching “The English Teacher,” which also stars Nathan Lane, Greg Kinnear, and Michael Angarano. Moore plays a high school teacher whose life is turned upside down when a former student returns to town with a play that he has written. Moore’s character thinks his work is brilliant and sets about launching a production of it at the school. Little does she suspect that her life will never be the same.

The movie was written by Dan and Stacy Chariton and directed by Craig Zisk, who has directed episodes of some of the most popular shows on TV, including “Smash,” Parks and Recreation,” “The Big C,” “American Horror Story,” “Shameless,” “New Girl,” “Nip/Tuck,” and “Weeds,” to name a few.

The good news is that “The English Teacher” is already streaming on demand. It isn’t yet on Netflix, but you can watch it on Amazon. Watch the trailer below.
