The rumors have finally come to pass. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie got married over the weekend, and celebrated on April 1 with their brood in the South of France. Oh, and she’s expecting twins again! Do they have enough for a soccer team yet?

Guess what?! There’s a new “Firefly” TV show in the works! Bolstered by the success of the “Veronica Mars” project on KickStarter, Nathan Fillion and Joss Whedon decided to launch their own KickStarter campaign.  “It’s time,” said Nathan Fillion. “We’re delighted to bring the Browncoats what they’ve been dreaming of for years — another ‘Firefly’ TV show.” The new show, premiering sometime in 2014, will pick up where the old one left off in 2003. The entire cast is returning.

And guess what else is coming back? “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”! Yep, Whedon said it’s time to revisit everyone’s favorite vampires and witches, and he’s gearing up for a brand new series based on the original “Buffy.” This one picks up 10 years after the original series. Caleb may be dead and Sunnydale may have been swallowed up in a huge vortex, but that was just the beginning for the Scooby Gang. Buffy and Spike now have a child together (played by Elle Fanning), and she’s everything you’d expect from a vampire/slayer hybrid. The show will premiere sometime in 2014 and is expected to follow “Firefly” on The CW network. The entire cast, including Sarah Michelle Gellar, is returning for the new series.

Lindsay Lohan is planning a run for public office. The girl who always seems to be in trouble has actually been cleaning up her act behind the scenes. She’s earned a bachelor’s degree in political science over the past few years and has assembled a team of advisors to help map out her next move: Governor of California. I always knew there was a really smart girl lurking behind the tabloid headlines.

Tom Cruise has decided to come clean about his love affair with Scientology. The two are planning a June wedding, followed by an extensive honeymoon on the far side of the moon.

Happy April 1st, dear readers! And while we’re at it, what dream projects would YOU like to see happen before April 1, 2014?

Sorry! Although at the checkout grocery line today, I saw a big headline on a tabloid: “Brad and Angie Got Married!” Of course, when I looked inside, it was all “oh, it was a ‘spiritual’ ceremony at their house overlooking the bluff at sunset.”
