The Tribeca Film Festival has announced its lineup of 89 films screening April 17-28, 2013 in New York City. The movies were chosen from more than 6,000 submissions and include international feature narratives and documentaries.

I’m curious about the film “Bluebird” because I’m a big fan of Margo Martindale (see my interview with her), who stars in it with John Slattery. Besides “Bluebird,” though, there’s plenty to get excited about: “Sunlight Jr.” stars Naomi Watts, Brad Pitt is one of the producers of the documentary “Big Men,” and Whoopi Goldberg has directed a documentary called “I Got Somethin’ To Tell You.”

Other films will feature Paul Rudd, Stanley Tucci, Kate Hudson, Zac Efron, Dennis Quaid, Gabriel Byrne, Sam Rockwell, William H. Macy, John Cusack, Melissa Leo, and Julianne Moore. Neil LaBute and Richard Linklater are among the filmmakers who will be represented.

For a full list of the offerings, visit the Tribeca Film Festival website. In a few weeks, watch for our coverage of the fest to find out what movies you’ll want to see during the coming year.
