Perhaps the “Modern Family“ writers will borrow this real-life incident for an upcoming episode.
Friday night, Jesse Tyler Ferguson tweeted a video imploring someone to rescue him and fellow “Modern Family” cast members Julie Bowen and Eric Stonestreet from a stuck elevator on their way to a Boys & Girls Club fundraiser in Kansas City.
Ferguson is heard chanting, “Here’s our bind.” Then in a round robin of chants, Bowen and Stonestreet say, “Get Us Out!,” followed by the group yelling, “All together” and “Get Us Out!” If you listen to it enough times, you feel like your head is exploding.
Surprisingly enough, while all this shouting is going on, some dozen or so other people sharing the elevator with them look calm or downright bored.
“Finally made it out of the stuck elevator at the one-hour mark,” Ferguson tweeted about the rescue. “At least the firemen in K.C. are cute.”
Here’s a video of the rescue, with a fireman helping Bowen up a ladder with a camera trained on her tush. “I hope she’s wearing underwear,” you can hear Ferguson crack.
“I honestly handled being stuck in an elevator for 50 min better than I thought,” Stonestreet wrote on WhoSay. “All @jessetyler did was pass wind. That’s my mom in blue.”
