Watch the International Trailer for Vampire Thriller ‘Byzantium’

The vampire craze is not over yet! (Will it ever be? We hope not.)

West End Films has released the first international trailer for Neil Jordan’s new vampire-thriller “Byzantium,” starring Saoirse Ronan and Gemma Arterton.

If Jordan’s name is familiar, it’s because he helmed “Interview with the Vampire,” so he’s back on familiar ground with this film. Of course, he’s got a whole slew of other credits to his name, including “The Borgias,” “The Brave One,” and “Breakfast on Pluto,” among them.

“Byzantium” is the story of a mother-daughter vampire duo (Ronan and Arterton) who seek refuge at a small coastal resort. Word of their true identities quickly spreads throughout the surrounding community.

Screenwriter/playwright Moira Buffina, who last scripted Cay Joji Fukunaga’s 2011 adaptation of “Jane Eyre,” wrote the film, which also stars Sam Riley and Jonny Lee Miller.

After screening at the Toronto International Film Festival last September, IFC Films picked up the U.S. distribution rights for the film. No U.S. theatrical release date is set at this writing, but expect to see the film in a limited theatrical run and VOD release later this year.
