It’s good to be friends with Matt Damon. Last week, Damon hosted Jimmy Kimmel’s show, pretending to kidnap him, then enlisting his celebrity pals to taunt him. The result was a huge ratings boost for Kimmel.
This Sunday, Damon is doing the same for Don Cheadle by guest starring on his Showtime series “House of Lies.” In the season 2 episode 4, titled “Damonshildren.org,” he’ll play a “maniacal megastar version of himself,” according to the press release.
Damon enlists Marty (Cheadle), the big-money earner at Galweather Stream who heads a hot-shot young team known as The Pod — Jeannie (Kristen Bell), Clyde (Ben Schwartz) and Doug (Josh Lawson) — to find a charity to attach his name to.
The press release doesn’t say why, although it’s what superstars do to burnish their images. Comedy ensues when Marty has to deal with the mega ego of his celebrity superstar pal.
Cheadle and Damon are real-life friends who are reuniting for the first time since the “Ocean’s Eleven” film franchise. Cheadle, who just won a Golden Globe and was nominated for an Emmy for his performance in the show, plays the ultimate power player and head of this special team, “whose work and life revolves around first-class travel, top shell liquor and anything he can charge the client on a black Am Ex.”
Here’s a sneak peek at the episode, which airs Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime.
