Lady Gaga has tweeted to her some 34 million followers about her hip pain in the past few days, then her team tweeted this announcement on Tuesday: “Due to a case of synovitis, (severe inflammation of joints) Gaga’s doctor has ordered her to postpone show in Chicago, Detroit + Hamilton.”
She has also been tweeting how sad it makes her to let down her fans by postponing her tour, but reassures them she will be okay. She tweeted: “It will hopefully heal as soon as possible, I hate this. I hate this so much. I love you and Im sorry.
Even before the announcement of her tour’s cancellation, she tweeted about her hip pain: “I hid it from my staff, I didn’t want to disappoint my amazing fans. However after last nights performance I could not walk and still can’t.”
Finally, this sad tweet from Gaga: “To the fans in Chicago Detroit & Hamilton I hope you can forgive me, as it is nearly impossible for me to forgive myself. Im devasted & sad.”
Her acolytes will forgive her. Everyone knows how Gaga loves her fans, which she calls “Little Monsters.”
I can tell you her devotion to her fans is no act. I once saw her walking on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, where her parents live and own a restaurant. She was wearing no makeup, no wig, her hair a kind of dirty blond, even mousey if you can believe. She wore shorts and incredibly high heels, so it was hard to miss her.
Fans stopped her and she talked to everyone, signed autographs and was incredibly charming, without a single camera fixed on her except for the cellphone pictures her fans took and for which she graciously posed.
