Bill Clinton and Barbra Streisand

Bill Clinton will be presenting the Chaplin Award to Barbra Streisand at the Film Society of Lincoln Center gala April 22. As everyone knows, the former Prez is an impressive and mesmerizing speaker and quite the film buff.

Bill Clinton is the only presenter announced so far at the gala, but now we can only imagine the other high profile names that will be hosting this event and celebrating Streisand’s career with anecdotes and tribute speeches. The evening will feature film and interview clips that will culminate in Bubba’s presentation of the Chaplin Award to Streisand.

They’ve long had a mutual admiration society thing; Streisand sang at President Clinton’s inauguration, and she’s donated to some of his causes. For one evening we can relive the Clinton years, when the economy wasn’t in meltdown and Hillary was the first lady. Now if only la Streisand would belt out a few of her hits at the gala, but we can predict that won’t happen except on celluloid.
