Presidential Inauguration 2013: Sasha and Malia Obama

Sure, the past few days were all about getting President Obama inaugurated for a second time, so he can get to work for the next four years.

And ok, it’s been fun checking out the First Lady’s awesome clothing choices, including this and this and this. And Beyonce belting out the National Anthem.

But we were also mesmerized with America’s First Kids, too. Here are ten reasons why Sasha and Malia Obama are the coolest kids ever.

1. Because they entered the inauguration wearing these color schemes and being the most awesome kids in America.

2. Because it was adorable when Sasha leaned on her big sister’s shoulder.

3. Because Sasha has a cool turtle phone case.

4. Because they took this selfie with funny faces and Malia gave the peace symbol.

5. Because they looked utterly bored during the inauguration.

6. Because they chatted up their cool cousin with the cool haircut.

7. Because Malia broke Teen Code and kissed her dad in front of the whole world.

8. And Sasha broke Tween Code and did the same thing.

9. And now Dads everywhere will get kisses, and it’ll be cool.

10. And because they both kept their cool while this happened and they didn’t burst into excited chatter with, “Oh my gosh! Dad’s kissing Beyonce!”

  1. Funny. They must have infinite patience for all the stuff they have to sit through. It’s a HUGE sacrifice for the family to make so that the President can serve.

  2. I have always loved these girls, for no other reason than their own personal charisma and that they seem unjaded. I also approve of those coats in various shades of purple — I love wearing those colors, which say “I am not boring!”
