Norah Jones will perform the Oscar-nominated original song “Everybody Needs a Best Friend,” from the film “Ted” at the Academy Awards on Feb. 24. The music is by Walter Murphy and the lyrics are by Seth MacFarlane, who will be this year’s Oscar host.
“I had such a great time recording this song with Seth, and was thrilled to find out that it was nominated for an Oscar,” said Jones. “Getting to perform it at such a prestigious event, which my friend is hosting, is a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
I’m hoping MacFarlane performs the song with Jones, but all bets are on Adele winning this award with “Skyfall.”
