FRIDAY, JAN. 4:
Writers Guild of America (WGA) Theatrical and documentary film nominees announced. Writers Guild of America East and Writers Guild of America West.
The Academy Awards. Nominations voting ends 5 p.m.
Art Directors Guild (ADG) nominations. Excellence in production design awards.
SATURDAY, JAN. 5:
National Society of Film Critics. No nomination process, members meet at Lincoln Center’s Elinor Bunin Theater in New York, vote using ballot and announce same day.
MONDAY, JAN. 7:
New York Film Critics Circle Awards Gala. Crimson in the Flatiron District of New York.
Visual Effects Society (VES) nominations.
Directors Guild of America nominations for five feature film nominees.
TUESDAY, JAN. 8:
National Board of Review (NBOR) Gala. Cipriani’s 42d St. Meredith Vieira hosts again this year.
Cinema Audio Society announces final five nominees.
Toronto Film Critics Association awards.
WEDNESDAY, JAN. 9:
Golden Globe Awards, deadline for receipt of final ballots.
People’s Choice Awards. Kaley Cuoco of The Big Bang Theory hosts for second year. Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, 9-11 p.m.
American Society of Cinematographers (ASC). Theatrical nominations announced.
BAFTA Awards nominations.
THURSDAY, JAN. 10
***ACADEMY AWARD NOMINATIONS ANNOUNCED. 5:30 a.m. PT in the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater. Last year it was Jan. 24, so it’s been pushed ahead two weeks.
Broadcast Film Critics’ Choice Awards, usually called Critics Choice Movie Awards. The show will air on The CW Network , 8 to 10 p.m.
FRIDAY, JAN. 11:
American Film Institute (AFI) Awards Luncheon. AFI preserves the history of the motion picture, to honor the artists and their work and educate the next generation of storytellers.
American Cinema Editors Awards (Eddie Awards). Nominations announced.
SUNDAY, JAN. 13
*** 70th GOLDEN GLOBE AWARDS. Telecast on NBC at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
