Dec. 10, 2012: Golden Globes deadline for nomination ballots to be received by Ernst & Young
Dec. 10, 2012: AFI, American Film Institute honorees announced
Dec. 10, 2012: Critics Choice Award Nominations (Broadcast Film Critics Association, a.k.a. BFCA)
Dec. 11, 2012: Hugh Jackman honored by the Museum of the Moving Image, 27th Annual Salute. This also shakes the drum for Les Miz.
Dec. 11, 2012: Critics Choice Awards Nominations. Broadcast Film Critics Association (BFCA), commonly called the Critics Choice Awards.
Dec. 12, 2012: Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Nominations announced. Don’t look for nominations for Beasts of the Southern Wild. Their actors are disqualified from consideration since they are non-pros. We think they’re meanies for this. Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood.
Dec. 13, 2012: GOLDEN GLOBE NOMINATIONS. 5 a.m. Pacific time/8 a.m. Eastern time. They nominate twice as many stars in Best Actor categories, because they break it down into Best Actor Drama and Best Actor Comedy or Musical. Also, look for the very big names to be announced, some of them out of left field, like Angelina Jolie for The Tourist a few years back. The Hollywood Foreign Press loves to get photographed with the mega-celebrities and brush shoulders at the parties, which is really the main event at this shindig. Also, it’s the Brangelinas that get the Globes their big TV ratings.
