It’s not often I see a movie trailer and immediately think, I can’t wait for this movie. But that’s exactly my response to Summit Entertainment’s Now You See Me. Ok, so I’m not all that crazy about the poster…
For a movie about magic and illusion, doesn’t it seem like they could have come up with something a little flashier?
Still, the story, actors, director and producers all make me giddy. The movie follows an elite FBI squad who track a team of illusionists known as “The Four Horsemen” who pull off a series of daring heists against corrupt business leaders during their performances. The stolen profits get showered upon the audiences at their shows. I want to go to that show!!!
And with each passing year, our public officials and private-sector business people just seem to get more and more corrupt, don’t they? I can see people really glomming onto this movie in solidarity against the man.
Check out this lineup: It’s directed by Louis Leterrier; produced by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Bobby Cohen, Boaz Yakin and Stan Wlodkowski; written by Boaz Yakin, Edward Ricourt and Josh Appelbaum; and stars Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Melanie Laurent, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, Common and Michael Kelly.
Now You See Me hits theaters June 7, 2013. I can’t wait! See what you think of the trailer.
