Election 2012: Michelle Obama and First Family Style at the Victory Speech

Sure, President Obama may get four more years, but a bonus is that we get another four years of Michelle Obama’s stylish frocks. On election night, the First Lady didn’t disappoint.

For her husband’s victory speech, Michelle wore a dress she’d worn twice before, a magenta silk chine pin-tucked Michael Kors frock, according to the Associated Press. She topped off the look with a black shrug with a vintage pink brooch from House of Lavande.

Michelle wore the dress previously in 2009 at a White House holiday party and at an event in November 2010. The fact that the First Lady recycles dresses in this economy makes me happy.

Last night’s choice was different from her selection on Barack’s 2008 election night, when she donned a black and red Narcisco Rodriguez dress, color coordinating with her daughters Malia and Sasha.

Four years later, the Obama girls are growing up and embracing their own sense of style. Last night, Malia wore an electric blue full skirt paired with a pink studded belt — sort of a teen version of the First Lady’s signature Azzedine Alaia belt.

Meanwhile, Sasha wore a bright green abstract-print skirt, gray bow-front top and a mix of colorful necklaces. Really fun.

I was so thrilled to hear that Michelle “recycled” her outfit. What a great message to send to not only the public, but her own girls as well.

I love Malia’s pink belt!  I thought I recognized Michele’s dress.  Glad to see she doesn’t hesitate to wear her outfits more than once.
