Last year, the Friars Club Comedy Film Festival was one of my favorite fests. (Read my story about it.) Filled with funny indie features, shorts, and documentaries, it’s a unique festival that includes parties for passholders at the beautiful Friars Club building in midtown Manhattan.

This year, there are features starring the likes of Julia Stiles and Bruce Willis during the four-day festival from October 24-27, 2012. The movies are screened at various venues in the city. Check out the schedule and a few trailers below, and buy your tickets now if you’re a New Yorker.

On a related note, I see that my all-time favorite comedian, Brian Regan, is going to be at the NY Comedy Festival. If anyone’s nearby, try and score tickets. Totally family-friendly, too. He was in Traverse City last winter, and all four of us — husband, me, and two teens — went to see him. He had us laughing so hard we could barely breathe.

@Jane Boursaw I love him and plan to try to go, but with my schedule, I’m not sure I’m going to manage it. Never seen him in person, but he always has me in stitches when I watch him on television.
