I think it’d be hard to be a celebrity. Especially if you’ve grown up virtually in front of the cameras and dealt with paparazzi your whole life. That’s why I’m giving Miley Cyrus a pass on her 1980’s-chic hairdo.
Maybe she felt like something drastic was in order to break free of her Disney Channel persona. Something different than the movie LOL.
I actually like her hairdo and think it’s kind of cute. Harks back to my 1980s days. I never went blonde, but did sport a super-short Billy Idol-type ‘do for a (thankfully) brief period. I’ve never had a tattoo, though. Probably never will.
Here’s Miley Cyrus in New York City last week. What do you think of her new ‘do?

[…] in LOL | LionsgateI hate to say it, and I really do like Miley Cyrus (and don’t even mind her new hairdo), but she’s kind of a one-dimensional actress. You could pluck her out of most of her other […]
This looked okay on Debbie Harry, but I think Miley should have started with just the cut, and left her hair its original color. Then I might have liked it.
I think it is kind of cute and if it allows her to feel like she has broken out of the mold, then go for it.
Kind of cute, yes…but I do think she looked more attractive before. But I’m all for change, so why not?
I think Miley wanted to make a bold statement. It will grow out.
She is such a pretty girl, but I don’t think this do does anything for her.
I was listening to a bunch of little boys talk about this issue. (note: by “little boys” I’m not being sarcastic. I’m really talking about 8 year olds). They were almost offended that she would “do this” to her hair. I found it amazing how little has changed over the years. I do think it looks cute.
Debbie Harry never had an extreme short boyish haircut like that – the color may be channeling “Blondie” but the style sure isn’t!
