Christian Bale Visits Shooting Victims in Aurora, Colorado

It’s tough to find anything good about the horrible theater shooting that occurred during last Thursday’s midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises. But at least the victims got a little lift when Batman himself showed up at the hospital.

Christian Bale, who specifically asked that the media not be notified of his visit, arrived at the Medical Center of Aurora early this morning and posed with the hospital staff and victims for more than two and a half hours.

Bale issued a brief statement the day after the deadly massacre, noting, “Words cannot express the horror that I feel. I cannot begin to truly understand the pain and grief of the victims and their loved ones, but my heart goes out to them.”

Class act.

I agree. It was a wonderful act of kindness on his part, and I’m sure it made everyone happy and grateful to see him there so unexpectedly.

@Sheryl It really was. And he went there on his own, not as a representative for Warner Bros. or anyone else. In his personal history, this will definitely help to replace his expletive-laden rant that went viral on the set of Terminator Salvation a few years back. Good for him.

I was wondering why his visit wasn’t a complete media circus. Agreed, class act.
