Julianne Hough Rocks a Kaufman Franco Dress at the Rock of Ages Premiere

You’ve got to have a lot of confidence and chutzpah (and reliable undergarments) to wear a neon yellow dress to a movie premiere. But it’s clear that Julianne Hough has all of that, along with no qualms about wearing the slinky number on the black carpet at the Rock of Ages premiere held at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.

I’m not totally sure about the bun. It looks like something I throw my hair into when I get up in the morning. Is that what the kids are doing these days?

Hard to believe Hough is only 23 — she was just a babe of 18 when she started on Dancing With the Stars back in 2007. Now she’s kicking it up with Tom Cruise and Diego Boneta in @RockofAgesMovie, and working that yellow Kaufman Franco dress with Christian Louboutin heels and Stephen Webster jewels.

“The music is so incredible,” Julianne told the Chicago Sun Times about the new flick. “The melodies from the ’80s made those songs so iconic and classic. I wish there were more melodies like that today.” I agree, but had some problems with the movie, which you can read about over at MommaSaid.net, the awesome back fence of the Internet which syndicates my weekly movie reviews.

I saw this dress in People. Lovely. But I agree about the hair. What’s up with these glamorous stars coming out with their hair looking like they just got out of bed?

I agree about the hair. I suppose if you don’t eat for days on end you start to lose track of reality…

Hey, my daughter did her hair like that for crazy hair day at basketball camp–she tucked a stuffed animal in it to complete her look. Who knew she was being fashion forward;)

I couldn’t have worn a dress like that when I was her age. But then I wasn’t a movie star. As for the hair, I agree with the other commenters. The hairdo looks very much like the way my daughter ties up her hair. I wonder how much the hairdresser was paid for “creating” the look?
