Rock of Ages International Poster: It’s All About the Tom Cruise Six-Pack

Tom Cruise in Rock of Ages
Yep, it's Tom Cruise, a.k.a. Stacee Jaxx in the big-screen adaptation of Rock of Ages

The international poster for Rock of Ages is out, and it’s pretty cool. It has kind of a “This is Spinal Tap meets The Filth and the Fury” feel to it — though Tom Cruise would have to go on a ten-day fast to rival Iggy Pop’s waifish frame.

Rock of Ages is the Adam Shankman-directed movie based on the Broadway musical. Set in 1987, it follows the journey of Drew (Diego Bonita) and Sherrie (Julianne Hough), two youngsters chasing their dreams in the big city.

The cast is brilliant: Bryan Cranston, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Malin Akerman, long-haired Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, Paul Giamatti, Will Forte and Mary J. Blige for starters. Constantine Maroulis plays a record exec.

Tom Cruise must have had a blast playing rock star Stacee Jaxx. Like he was able to unleash every ounce of energy rolling around in his thetan body. I wonder how many sit-ups he had to do to get those abs. Look for Rock of Ages in theaters June 15, 2012.

Hello! I find Cruise to be a bit of a freak show, but those abs…

You know, even with all his freakishness, my adoration has never waned with Tom Cruise. There’s just something about him… plus he’s got those abs now.

I’ve seen this movie at least 10 times. Though a lot of people didn’t like it, I loved it. It isn’t meant to be taken to seriously. It’s just a fun movie with a simple love story
