I Confess: I Love the Twilight Movies

Breaking Dawn, Part 1I have a confession: I love the Twilight movies. I realize they’re not the greatest movies ever made. When I watched the first one a while later after seeing it in the theater, it brought home the fact that the dialogue was cheesy and  the acting not the greatest.

Still, the characters were compelling, the romance emotional, and the fantasy storyline about vampires and werewolves drew me right in. And I hadn’t even read the books by Stephenie Meyer, so am basing this solely on the movie. By the time they got to New Moon and Eclipse, the actors and production had started to gel, and I couldn’t wait to find out where the story went next.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 hits theaters Nov. 18, 2011, and follows vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and his human love Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) as they get married and start a family. Only the little vampire inside her will likely kill Bella before she’s able to give birth, and none of that sits well with Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), the werewolf who’s always loved her.

Take a look at the trailer and tell me: Are you a fan? Or would you prefer it all go away as you head for the nearest arthouse theater to watch a thoughtful independent movie?

Hmm…I’ve never gotten into these movies, but after reading “the host” by Stephanie Myer & really enjoying her sense of imagination & writing, I might take a chance…what’s the worst that could happen…*thinks of a Dr. Pepper advert*…*cringes* lol! 😛

I actually did read all the books a while back when I was stuck in bed with the flu, and they really are kind of fun in a vapid way. I won’t rush to the theater or anything, but I will add the movie to my netflix queue.

I just saw “Breaking Dawn” part 1, and I was VERY impressed, even if as a man I am probably not the most typical fan of “Twilight” series. I rather liked all the “Twilight” movies until now and this one is, to my personnal taste, as good as the previous ones – and even in one aspect a little bit better, as Edward and Bella finally become lovers. A very tasty story about love and death dancing with wolves, mixing happiness and sadness, despair and hope!
