I have a confession: I love the Twilight movies. I realize they’re not the greatest movies ever made. When I watched the first one a while later after seeing it in the theater, it brought home the fact that the dialogue was cheesy and the acting not the greatest.
Still, the characters were compelling, the romance emotional, and the fantasy storyline about vampires and werewolves drew me right in. And I hadn’t even read the books by Stephenie Meyer, so am basing this solely on the movie. By the time they got to New Moon and Eclipse, the actors and production had started to gel, and I couldn’t wait to find out where the story went next.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 hits theaters Nov. 18, 2011, and follows vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and his human love Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) as they get married and start a family. Only the little vampire inside her will likely kill Bella before she’s able to give birth, and none of that sits well with Jacob Black (Taylor Lautner), the werewolf who’s always loved her.
Take a look at the trailer and tell me: Are you a fan? Or would you prefer it all go away as you head for the nearest arthouse theater to watch a thoughtful independent movie?
