‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon‘ arrives in theaters on July 1, 2011, and I’m hoping this third movie puts the franchise back on track. Even Michael Bay and the filmmakers weren’t all that happy with how the second movie, ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen‘ turned out.
In this one, the Autobots learn of a Cybertronian spacecraft hidden on the Moon, and race against the Decepticons to reach it and learn its secrets. I’m sure there will a nice robot battle scene or two. It’s directed by Michael Bay, after all. Check out the trailer. I must admit, it’s a little freaky to see that skyscraper tipping over.
The story reunites Shia LaBeouf (Sam Witwicky), Tyrese Gibson (Robert Epps), and Josh Duhamel (Lt. Col. William Lennox), and I’m especially geeked about Leonard Nimoy voicing the role of Sentinel Prime. Other stars include Hugo Weaving, Patrick Dempsey, John Malkovich, Alan Tudyk, Frances McDormand, Ken Jeong, and John Turturro.
Sam has now graduated from college and is looking for a job. He also has a new girlfriend Carly, played by Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. No sign of Megan Fox.
And even though the movie doesn’t hit theaters until July 1, 2011, Ain’t It Cool News has already posted a review! Here are stills of three of the giant robots: Optimus, Shockwave and Bumblebee.
