We really love ‘Pawn Stars’ in this household. And now that it’s become a family viewing event, I don’t even think about the fact that the name is a play on not-so-family pursuits. I didn’t like the name at first, but I don’t think too much about it now.

And ‘Pawn Stars’ actually IS great family viewing, because 1) it’s a family-owned business; 2) it’s really educational; and 3) you learn all sorts of cool historical stuff. And watching the Old Man, Rick, Big Hoss and Chumlee interact is a hoot.

Pawn Stars

My son Facebook’d this video to me the other day, which I think is hysterical. It’s the ‘Pawn Star’ guys as the ‘[amazon_link id=”B004856SQ8″ target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]A-Team[/amazon_link]’ guys. “I love it when a plan comes together.”

Watch ‘Pawn Stars‘ on the History Channel, Monday at 10 p.m.

  1. We have been watching Pawn Stars, too. I agree. It’s strange how it sneaks up on you and becomes addictive. An anti-dote to all that highfaluting Antiques Roadshow, I guess.

  2. Squid – Yeah, definitely worth checking out. The family that runs it is a hoot, and I’m learning a lot about history, too.

Sandy – “An anti-dote to all that highfalutin Antiques RoadShow” – so true!

Dylan – I can’t say I even remembered much about the recent A-Team movie, but that video definitely made me want to watch it again. Or better yet, the original TV show.
