I really loved the first ‘Cars’ movie, and now there’s another one headed to theaters on June 24, 2011. This time, Lightning McQueen (voiced by Owen Wilson) and Mater (Larry the Cable Guy) hit the road in 3D. Not a big fan of 3D here, but this movie holds lots of opportunities for great action, so I have high hopes.
‘Cars 2‘ finds star racecar Lightning McQueen and his buddy tow truck Mater heading overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix. Torn between assisting McQueen in the race and towing the line in a top-secret spy mission, Mater’s journey leads him on a chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world.
Sadly, I’m guessing we won’t hear Paul Newman’s voice – unless they flash back to the first movie (which wouldn’t surprise me) – but we’ll have John Ratzenberger (Mack), Bonnie Hunt (Sally Carrera), Tony Shalhoub (Luigi), and Cheech Marin (Ramone), as well as plenty of new characters.
Check out the trailer and see what you think. Looking forward to this one!
