Not sure what to think about this news. I’ll take a “wait and see” approach, and see how it all works out.
Gossip blogger Perez Hilton has vowed to be nicer. Yes, the same guy who makes a living bashing celebrities (including kids) and posting inappropriate (often photo-shopped) pictures of said celebrities has vowed to be nicer.
The move was spurred by Savage Love columnist Dan Savage’s “It Gets Better” campaign – an effort to stop bullying against gay teens.
I wonder how long the niceness will stick, if Hilton’s traffic numbers go down based on his new nice attitude. Let’s face it — a lot of the people who visit that site probably go there for that exact reason. To read mean things about people.

I think people like this make their mark by being different and shocking. Nice is not different (or maybe it is…). I think people like the irreverent nature of Hilton. People love to feed off other people’s unhappiness and misfortune. Sad.
