Some creepy movies in theaters today, which makes sense because we’re getting closer to Halloween. I have to say, though, I didn’t think the first ‘Paranormal Activity’ movie was all that scary.
My son and I watched it on DVD, and we laughed all the way through it, and burst into laughter at the end scene. Did you think it was scary? Maybe you have to see it in a theater …
Here’s the scoop on new movies today:
‘Hereafter’ – Does Matt Damon really see dead people? So it seems in this drama centered on three people – a blue-collar American, a French journalist, and a London school boy who are all touched by death in different ways.
Directed by Clint Eastwood; rated PG-13 for mature thematic elements, including disturbing disaster and accident images, and for brief strong language;129 min.
‘Paranormal Activity 2’ – This sequel to ‘Paranormal Activity’ finds a family experiencing what they think are a series of “break-ins” – but are they really break-ins or something more sinister?
A baby and a dog enter the fray, as the family sets up security cameras around their home. Directed by Tod Williams; rated R for some language and brief violent material; 91 min.
‘The Company Men’ – In a ripped-from-the-headlines story, this drama centers on a year in the life of three men trying to survive a round of corporate downsizing at a major company. Ben Affleck, Tommy Lee Jones and Chris Cooper star. Directed by John Wells; rated R for language and brief nudity; 109 min.
‘Rising Stars’ – Barry Corbin, Fisher Stevens, and Rebecca St. James star in this drama about three musical acts challenged with creating music videos. But egos clash as the teens discover how far they’ll go to win the coveted prize and achieve stardom. Directed by Daniel Millican; rated PG for some mild thematic material; 90 min.
