The Facebook Movie – a.k.a. ‘The Social Network’ – has been in the works for a while, so I’m excited to see it finally headed to the big screen on Oct. 1, 2010.
Jesse Eisenberg will be perfect as Mark Zuckerberg, the Harvard undergrad and computer programming genius who on one fall night in 2003, sat down at his computer and began working on a new idea that would connect people around the world.
What began in his dorm room soon became a global social network and communications revolution known as, you guessed it, Facebook. A mere six years and 500 million(!) friends later, Zuckerberg had become the youngest billionaire in history. But it didn’t come without complications, including those in the personal and legal departments. It’s definitely a high-class problem to have, though.
Based on Ben Mezrich’s book ‘The Accidental Billionaires,’ this movie is directed by David Fincher and written by Aaron Sorkin, and also stars Justin Timberlake, Brenda Song, Rooney Mara, Malese Jow, Joseph Mazzello and Max Minghella. It’s not rated yet, but I’m guessing it’ll be PG-13 to attract the teen crowd – some of social networking’s biggest fans.
Will you be seeing ‘The Social Network’?
