‘Date Night’ isn’t the funniest movie of the year, which is surprising, considering it’s got Steve Carell and Tina Fey in the leads. But it still has some very funny moments and is worth checking out if you’re a fan of those two or action-romance-comedies.
You can read my full review here, but to summarize, the story follows married-in-a-rut couple Fey and Carell, who find themselves on the run, thanks to a case of mistaken identity. Amidst the action, we do get some nice revelations about marriage and what it means to be in a long-term relationship.
It’s rated PG-13 for sexual and crude content throughout, language, some violence and a drug reference. So it’s not for kids, although I think teens aged 14 and older might like it. Special Features Include outtakes and commentary by director Shawn Levy. The Extended Edition also includes extra scenes. Buy it on Amazon.
