Now that ‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ is playing happily in theaters (have you seen it yet? I think it’s the best ‘Twilight’ film yet!), we’re looking ahead to the next story in the franchise.
Summit Entertainment just announced that ‘Eclipse’ will be filmed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Vancouver. It’s scheduled to be released in two films, with the first in theaters on Nov. 18, 2011.
I bet the residents of those locales are either really happy or really bummed out! They’ll either love the publicity or hate it. Plus, the ‘Breaking Dawn’ crew might brush up against the ‘True Blood’ crew – they film in Baton Rouge, too. Vampires and werewolves and teenagers, oh my!
Oscar winner Bill Condon will direct both ‘Breaking Dawn’ films starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. Also on tap to reprise their roles: Billy Burke as Charlie Swan and members of the Cullen family, including Peter Facinelli as Carlisle, Elizabeth Reaser as Esme, Jackson Rathbone as Jasper, Nikki Reed as Rosalie, Ashley Greene as Alice, and Kellan Lutz as Emmett.
Based on the fourth novel in Stephenie Meyer‘s ‘Twilight’ series, the project is currently being written by Melissa Rosenberg with Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt and Stephenie Meyer producing.
