Could ‘Inception’ be the best movie of 2010? I’ll go out on a limb and put it right at the top of the list. We’ll see when the movie hits theaters July 16, 2010.
For one thing, it’s got Chris Nolan as director. Sure, he’d done lots of movies prior to ‘The Dark Knight,’ but that film put him on the map with moviegoers.
Pair that with the acting chops of Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ellen Page, Tom Hardy, Ken Watanabe, Cillian Murphy, Tom Berenger, Marion Cotillard, and Michael Caine.
And throw in a great story. DiCaprio plays Dom Cobb, a skilled thief who robs people of valuable secrets – from their subconscious during dream states. Cobb’s abilities have made him a coveted player in the world of corporate espionage, but also an international fugitive.
More after the jump, including a trailer…
Now he’s being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back, but only if he can accomplish the impossible inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse. Their task is not to steal an idea, but to plant one.
It sounds like one of those twisty-turny plots that’ll keep us guessing. In fact, I’m sure I’ll have to see the movie a couple of times to totally get it. Either that or take my son along, since he always understands movies down to the last plot twist.
