Can a bunch of aging action stars make a great movie? I’m going with yes, because ‘The Expendables’ looks like one of the best action flicks of 2010. A movie like this could easily be cheesy or one cliche after another. Ok, maybe there’s a few cliches in there, but it still looks totally fun. Check ‘em out on Facebook.
Here’s the tagline from the trailer: “They are the world’s greatest mercenaries. The only life they’ve ever known is war. The only loyalty they’ve ever had is to each other.”
It follows a group of mercenaries hired to infiltrate a South American country and overthrow its ruthless dictator. Once the mission begins, however, the guys realize things aren’t quite as they appear, and they find themselves caught in a dangerous game of deceit and betrayal.

Get a load of the cast: Sylvester Stallone plays Barney Ross, the leader of the group and a man with nothing to lose; Jason Statham plays Lee Christmas, a blades expert and former SAS; Jet Li plays Yin Yang, a master at close-quarter combat; Terry Crews is Hale Caesar, a long-barrel weapons specialist; Randy Couture plays Toll Road, a demolitions expert; and Dolph Lundgren is Gunnar Jensen, a combat veteran and expert sniper.
When the mysterious “Church” offers Barney a job no one else wants, he and his team embark on a routine mission to overthrow General Gazar (David Zayas), dictator of a small island country. They meet their contact Sandra (Giselle Itie), a local freedom fighter, and also learn who their true enemy is: rogue ex-CIA op James Monroe (Eric Roberts) and his henchman Paine (Steve Austin).
