Founded in 2002, Reel Life With Jane is a trusted resource for entertainment news and reviews with a family focus. All of the content on this site is original and written with lots of personality and opinion.

We’re dedicated to showcasing talented writers. We love having a variety of voices on the site, and we’re always on the lookout for folks who can attend entertainment events in person and be our roving reporter. We strive to entertain as well as inform, with a writing style that is upbeat, full of personality, and family friendly (i.e. no coarse language or iffy content).

The best way to get an assignment is to send a great query letter on a topic you’re passionate about. Please familiarize yourself with the site before submitting a query or column idea. We cover a wide array of stories, which generally run from 500 to 1000 words. A familiarity with WordPress is a bonus. Types of stories include:

Queries should describe the content, structure, and tone of the proposed story. Since we receive many queries on a variety of topics, please be specific about what makes your idea unique and why you are qualified to write about it.

Due to the large volume of submissions, allow three to four weeks for a response. Queries are accepted via email only. Please include “Query” in the subject line, along with a few words on the topic. Please email queries to editor@reellifewithjane.com.
