Oz: The Great and Powerful Trailer – James Franco is Befuddled, Michelle Williams is Beautiful

I never really thought much about the origins of Oz, even though I’ve seen [amazon_link id=”B002VWNIEK” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]The Wizard of Oz[/amazon_link] at least a thousand times. It was always just this strange and magical place full of small people, yellow brick roads, awkward scarecrows, frightened lions and noble tin men.

And, of course, that big palace filled with colorful horses and a mysterious man behind a curtain. That would be Oz, played by James Franco in Oz: The Great and Powerful, a sequel that tells the beginnings of the curious place. Directed by Sam Raimi, the movie also stars Mila Kunis (Theodora), Rachel Weisz (Evanora), Abigail Spencer (May), Joey King (China Girl), Zach Braff (Frank), and Michelle Williams as Glinda.

I can totally see Michelle Williams as Glinda the Good Witch. I’m still pondering James Franco as Oz. It seems like he should be smoking something as he drifts off in that big balloon.

Oz: The Great and Powerful, from Roth Films and Walt Disney Pictures, hits theaters March 8, 2013. Check out the trailer and see what you think.
