Yes, that’s right. Yours truly, Reel Life With Jane, is nominated for a Bloggie Award for Best Entertainment Blog. I usually don’t get excited about this sort of thing, but for some reason, I’m SUPER GEEKED about this!
Needless to say, I want to win this baby, so please hop over to the Bloggie Awards site and vote for me. You’ll find me about half-way down in the Best Entertainment Blog section.
I’ve had an opportunity to look through all the nominees’ sites, and while they’re all fantastic, I’ve picked out a few favorites. I hope you’ll vote for them, too!
Check ‘em out after the jump…
Best Australian or New Zealand Blog: The Frugal Kiwi (Chickens and Bees and Soap, Oh My!)
Best Asian Blog: Bangkok Reality Smackdown (You go with your bad reality show smackdown self!)
Best African Blog: 3Limes (Cool name. Cooler writing. Anyone who mentions The Merchant of Venice, an Egyptian revolution, and Mexican chocolate cake in the same post has my vote)
Best European Blog: Lost in Cheeseland (because if I ever get to Paris, I need someone who knows their cafes)
Best Latin American Blog: And So I Whisper (gorgeous hand-knit designs; stunning photos)
Best Canadian Blog: Hydrantgirl and Her Firefighter (because there’s something completely awesome about a firefightin’ horseback ridin’ husband and wife. And yes, we do have A&W restaurants in the states, though not nearly enough)
Best Science Blog: David Robertson (a fun science blog that I can actually understand!)
Best Computer or Technology Blog: Wired (it’s hard not to love a blog with sub-blogs named ‘Danger Room’ and ‘Webmonkey’)
Best LGBT Blog: After Ellen (Dragon Tattoo! Pretty Little Liars! Jane Lynch!)
Best Blog About Religion: The Norse Mythology Blog (it’s Norse mythology! And the guy’s an expert! That’s the coolest thing I’ve thought about all day)
Best Blog About Politics: PunditMom (because I can get behind anyone who says she has time for other things, but has given up sleep. So with you on that, girlfriend)
Best Sports Blog: Kissing Suzy Kolber (I have no idea who Suzy is or anything about sports, but I love the names of the bloggers: Captain Caveman, Big Daddy Drew, and Christmas Ape)
Best Travel Blog: My Itchy Travel Feet (Donna Hull is my go-to travel girl. She’s been everywhere and lived to write about it)
Best Photography of a Blog: The Pioneer Woman (because not only does she have great photos, but also great posts, like “How to Load Hay on Your Feed Truck.” Farm girl here, so I know of which you speak)
Best Art, Craft or Design Blog: Young House Love (because I love any blogger who can write 1909 words about searching for a dining room table)
Best Food Blog: Bakerella (a sweet site that makes me happy, especially this post about Valentine’s Day. Can I eat my computer screen?)
Best Parenting Blog: Snarky Mommy (because I’m snarky, too. I’m one of you.)
Best Blog About Music: Music Road (Kerry Dexter is passionate about all things Irish, Scottish, Folk and Country Music)
Best Gossip Blog: TMZ (they’re on top of everything, and Harvey Levin and his little cup with the straw are completely fascinating to me)
Best Entertainment Blog: Reel Life With Jane (because I’m good enough, I’m smart enough, and doggone it, people like me!)
Best Fashion or Beauty Blog: Ain’t No Mom Jeans (real tips, advice and shaper camis for real women)
Best Topical Blog: Path to Freedom (where to begin? It’s everything I love! I’d write more, but I have to go read about storing stuff)
Best Designed Blog: Life As Rose (because I love any site with the person’s name in the title. That’s how I roll.)
Most Humorous Blog: Mommy Wants Vodka (because sometimes I want vodka, too. And I don’t even drink.)
Best Writing of a Blog: The Fabulous Geezersisters (hands down, some of the best writing on the Web or in the known universe)
Best Group or Community Blog: Curvy Girl Guide (because I’m curvy and proud of it!)
Best-Kept Secret Blog: Kevin & Amanda (because it’s a fun blog, and they seem like a couple that my husband and I could be friends with. If only we lived closer.)
Best New Blog: GeekMom (Yes! Moms can be geeks, too! We’re smart. We’re savvy. And we’re social. Get used to it.)
Please vote for the Bloggie Awards!
