Taylor Swift Throws Shade at Kanye West – 2016 Grammy Awards

Taylor Swift looked adorable on the red carpet at the 2016 Grammy Awards. And she also made an amazing acceptance speech, in which she threw some shade at Kanye West (’bout time, I say).

The music awards show took place at the Staples Center on Monday, Feb. 15, 2016 in Los Angeles.

The 26-year-old singer picked up the award for Album of the Year for 1989. Here’s what she said about Kanye West, without actually saying the rapper’s name.

“As the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame.”

She added, “But if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you’re going, you will look around and you will know it was you and the people who love you who put you there. That will be the greatest feeling in the world.”

The singer attended the 2016 Grammy Awards with her BFF Selena Gomez. I think we can officially call these two a “power couple,” don’t you?

The event was riddled with sound glitches. After Taylor’s performance, which opened the show, she sat down next to Selena. If you’re good at lip-reading, you could see where she said, “I missed that note.”

I doubt that anyone noticed anything but you, Taylor! You sounded terrific.
