Judy GoldShe’s a multi-Emmy award winner. She’s known for two critically acclaimed off-Broadway shows. And, on Jan. 6, 2014, she’ll be one of the contestants on the Food Network’s reality show, “Rachael vs. Guy: Celebrity Cook-Off.”

Ladies and Gentlemen, we present the amazing Judy Gold …

1. What’s one of your favorite childhood memories?

“When I think a lot about my childhood, I rode my bike a lot, and I love riding my bike. I still do now. I live in the city, and I ride my bike everywhere.”

2. Who in the comedy world most inspired you to get into this? Why?

“When I started doing stand-up, there were a handful of people that really helped me like Joy Behar and Susie Essman. I used to actually stand in the back and just watch these people. I loved watching Paula Poundstone.

There are so many people who really helped me and guided me and taught me a lot about the business. Whoopi Goldberg also. When I saw her one-person show in 1984, that’s when I realized, oh my God, I want to be in a theater! I love theater.

I used to listen to Joan Rivers all the time, and I loved Phyllis Diller, and I loved Totie Fields and Moms Mabley. I loved all of these female comedians.”

3. If you had to choose a completely different career, what would you do? Why?

“I think I’d be in a mental institution … I’d probably be a teacher, but I really have no idea.”
